This is Douglas Hofstadler's talk at the inaugral Singularity Summit in 2006. He raised some good points, and though I feel that Kurzweil was mainly successful in his later rebuttal the debate was valuable - indeed, this was what Hofstadler was calling for, a serious treatment within the scientific community about the proposed oncoming Singularity. I'm posting this primarily because of the cartoons in the middle - great stuff. Enjoy.
