Seems to be just Jim and I here these days playing table tennis, - some days it feels like me playing against the  . So, to remedy this situation why not give your insights into what might be the 'next big thing' in 2009, I'll leave it as open as that. Hope to see some responses, Neo.

2. Strong evidence for off-planet (microbial) life will be found, maybe Mars.
3. Michael Jackson will attempt a comeback tour and it will fail miserably.

2009 - Intel releases 32nm microprocessors. I think I'm on safe ground with this one, I'm fairly sure that it's part of Intel's roadmap. If I were to choose the most significent technological development which is likely to occur this year, it would be the above. But is umpire Jim going to overrule me on the grounds that this is Intel's prediction, and not mine? Double fault  ?

Ta yourself, morongo, and welcome to the good ship 'Solved'. I actually watched that film a few years ago, thought the music sounded familiar. I preferred Aronofsky's debut film 'Pi', but 'Requiem for a dream' is a crackin' film too. Talented guy.

What about 2010 forecasts, or predictions?
I predict that in 2010 'reality' will seem to get weirder. To anyone who pays attention anyways. Everyone else will seem to 'think less.'
Sorry, I guess I'm off topic.
I would say 'In 09 the pace of change will pick up noticeably.' But it's a little late to make that prediction.

I am just a little freaked out by the #3 prediction. Did we kill Michael just by playing around with predictions? Fail miserably really didn't mean die?
