I was just wondering if any of you have any experience with the SETI program for your computer? I always thought that would be interesting to get involved with when I got a computer but I've never investigated it to see how it works etc. Have any of you had any experience with it? How do you get started with that? What's good about it and bad about it etc.? Why you never tried it or did and stopped etc. Just curious about that. I'm not sure how that would work anyway...any input on this would be great!

I assume you are talking about SETI@home. You know this isn't any kind of interactive program that will entertain you or anything? It is an effort to "Co-op" some extra CPU power to analyze radio waves from space. SETI originally was going to use super computers, but why do that when millions of home computers working at once can be much more powerful. You are really just donating your CPU while you are not using it.

I've known people who have used it before with no problems. I think it is a great and fun idea (although I've never used it myself, not being a SETI advocate) :)
