A couple years ago, six blind patients were given rudimentary vision with 16-pixel bionic eyes. See the article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2007/feb/16/news.medicineandhealthMore recently, a 60-pixel version was developed. And now, according to a recent article in the Boston Herald, there is this: Forget curing blindness, this baby allows us to fool the retinal eye scan at the casinos!
