Just wondering what you all think.
For years, even decades now I've thought the World was so very slowly going mad.
Is it just me, or has the rate at which we are headed towards insanity seemed to pick up a bit lately?
I wanna know your thoughts on this.

Hi Tracy.

I kinda agree with you. Certainly people in general appear slightly less intelligent and not as open-minded as they used to be.

I think the media has played a big part in society's downfall.

My take is there's less violence, less crime, but more ways to report the news. In the news business, "if it bleeds, it leads." That emphasis on violence may skew the perception of reality to one that's dangerous and violence. just my thoughts.

Tracy,

I think you need examples here. Otherwise, it becomes somewhat of a verbal Rorschach test.

An immediate example proposed by ebb101 is violence. Prisons worldwide are full of violent people our designated experts consider rational; yet many of us don't agree. So is violence crazy? In itself, no, according to our designated experts.

Maybe the notion of "expert" is part of the problem?

At the time I started this thread I was thinking about how we elect politicians (experts?), not to solve problems, but to create them.
Where do we find these people?

Rorschach, the cool character from The Watchmen (the graphic novel, not the movie).

Yes the world is heading insanity. If Jim's theory about the conspiracy in movies is right you can trace the devolution of humanity in the plots.

Some example:
- The Crazies
- The Happening
- 28 Days or Weeks later
- ... and so much more

But millions of peoples are fighting against this kind of evolving and behaving.
