Holy Moly brother! That is an amazing announcement. Talk about "last Thursdayism" (trailer for the Matrix coming out last Thursday). There is the whole "higher self" paradigm where Neo does not even remember that he has ever been in the Matrix.

And then the red pill blue pill "pause button." That makes me paranoid like either the writers/producers have actually been in my mind or they have been reading my "non-virtual" posts about how the bioprogramming of "first-person experience" (thereby "consciousness")—is nothing more than a data crash followed by a pause. ⁠And of course Neil Patrick Harris in this movie as "Analyste" who is once again playing a villain ( recall Dr. Horribles during the writers strike). Something tells me this character will be a somewhat less than villain, but caught up in being both machine and posing as human in the Matrix.

I know right? The Matrix changed his mind's information. It changed his memory. Changed his reality.

The previous movies always played into that notion that we have a higher self whose information has to be changed in order for us to see inside our Matrix in which we have been living so we can grow. The machines reside in just another layer; they do not actually control the Matrix.

The battle of higher "self-awareness" has to take place inside the Matrix. All of Neo's battles and victories in the real world (in "Zion") have no meaning unless the battles are also won inside the Matrix. We have seen this idea in Matrix II and III. But then carried into the gaming world with "MMO" (The Matrix Online"— though really not sure what the extra "M" is about).
