There have been a number of experiments over the last few years demonstrating the equivalence of matter, energy, and information. Physicist Melvin Vopson focuses a lot on this topic and references much supporting research in a recent paper here: https://aip.scitation.org/doi/10.1063/5.0087175
I've seen some reports linking the ideas to the nature of dark matter, but, in actuality, it's ALL matter, isn't it? "Matter", "Energy", and "Information" are all just words but used differently in their own contexts. To prove an equivalence to information would seem to me to be as impactful as Einstein's E=mc^2. More of what us digital philosophers have been saying all along.
Just adds more punch to Digital Consciousness theory.

Sounds like a fascinating paper, Jim. It looks lengthy though! And there appears to be a fair bit of mathematical equations mixed in. I'll have to tackle it when I get more free time. These papers are always loooong, aren't they?!
