Miguel Conner runs the Aeon Byte Gnostic Radio web site.

Today (Jan 26th) Miguel released an audio interview he did with me where we talk about the esoteric symbolism in my articles on Sir Ridley Scott's films Blade Runner, Prometheus, and Alien.

This past week Miguel has ran this teaser for this particular episode.

The episode is available from iTunes. Go to Aeon Byte Gnostic Radio Show in iTunes.

For this show title click on View In iTunes:
Roger Voss on Gnostic Themes in Blade Runner and Prometheus

The interview starts at 16:00 minutes into the podcast.

Just a heads-up: Miguel does these rather, shall we say, creative intros to podcast that are more than just simple bumper music. You can tell he's really relishing being in the role of a societal heretic. Anxious Miguel's intro is a kind of "Howard Stern libertine" Gnosticism. It's probably going to have an Adult Explicit labeling in iTunes for that reason. If you don't care for Adult Explicit material, just jump forward to the interview. The interview is completely family friendly in language and use of metaphors.

Due to request there is now this: list of influences that relate to my articles

RogerV - this is very cool! Congrats in the interview. You were very eloquent.

Hint for others - It worked fine in Safari, but I had trouble with Firefox, probably because I don't have the QT plugin there.

Thanks, Jim. For a first time out I think it wasn't too bad.

In listening to it I did detect that I use the phrase "I found that fascinating" a bit much. Guess that's due to all those years of watching Star Trek reruns. (Mr. Spock looms large over us all doesn't he...)

And I forgot a couple of names that were in my articles. Even while having those right there on the computer, I couldn't exactly take the time to scan for them without causing an uncomfortable disruption in the flow of conversation. Miguel would go and look those up for me, though, and chime back in with them. So it all worked out.

And you'll notice I dropped in some plugs along the way :-)
