Very interesting. I had read of some of Dr.Moody's work before and I believe in it for sure! While I have not had a near death experience I have had an out of body experience on more than a few occassions and they were while I was under sedation during surgery; so it's not hard for me to understand how it could happen if someone was dying. The first experience I had was when I was thirteen or fourteen years old and I had been sedated for the O.R. and they took me by stretcher to the surgical suite but apparently weren't ready for me. They parked me in the hallway outside the surgical area and I recall waking up as it were standing beside my gurney looking around and listening to the people talking in the O.R. area getting things ready apparently. I could hear the clink of metal instruments apparently being put into a sink or on a metal table and I could hear two or three people talking out loud back and forth to one another. I can describe what I looked like lying there on the table. Intrestingly enough, I had no conscious idea of what a surgical suite looked like but recall that I was parked in the middle of two rooms-I mean to say outside the rooms but near the center of the two rooms outside the surgical area and this was just after you got off the elevator. Many years later when I became a nurse I saw the very area and then learned of things like a gurney and having a net on my hair. Also of the sheets being tight against my body and what the area where I was parked looked like after you got off the elevator to the surgical suite. Learning of all those things validated what I remembered.

Very interesting LadyBe, whetted my appitite for an OOBE documentary somewhat. I'm intrigued by Roger Penrose's ideas relating to microtubules and consciousness, I've heard of it before but only vaugely; http://www.consciousentities.com/penrose.htm
