Smelly armpit deodorising company, Lynx (or Axe as they are known outside of the UK) recently launched a contest to send 22 people into space and, damnit, I want to be one of them.

Seriously, all I need is enough votes to get me into the top 200 and I'm in for the national challenge.

So please click here and cast your vote in my favour.

If I win I will know for certain that this reality is under programmed control.

I mean, how damned cool does this look?...

Thank you Jim.

I don't think we'll have to worry too much about winning competitions like this to achieve spaceflight in our lifetimes. I suspect that Space Tourism is going to be huge within the next ten years or so and hopefully affordable to most of us, hence the reason why I ran the story on my site and got involved in this in the first place.

It'd be nice though to get down to the top 200 and hence put forward for the National Challenge, just to see if I do have 'The Right Stuff'.

Well, presumably after spending a week with the Monroe Institute you might become equipped to do some Tom Campbell style OBE exploration of other realities.

A little cheaper and possibly a little safer.

But, hey, on a somewhat serious note, there is also a couple of guys in Denmark that have an open source approach to achieving space flight underway:

Crazy DIY Spaceflight

Their goal is to eventually send a human being to the edge of space.

Now I'm not so enthused with the idea of sending people to space on a shoe string budget. However, I think the perfect project for our age is to attempt to send a robot to the moon.

Perhaps a way to sell donation support is offer sponsors some personal drive time with the robot. Or put a plack on the moon with their name on it. Get the idea...
