A Dyson Sphere is a hypothetical structure imagined by theoretical physicist Freeman Dyson. The idea is that an intelligent civilization sufficiently advanced to harness all of the resources of its sun (aka Type 2 Civilization), might build a spherical structure around the entire solar system. These spheres might be better indicators of intelligent civilization than the signals that SETI is looking for.
